For some reason, Dr. Tasso Pappas, who grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, apparently always knew he would help people in his career. He is now a dermatologist, and he feels that being a dermatologist is not unlike being a detective, in that he is always solving very profound riddles and mysteries. He likes that he has the opportunity to care for patients of all ages and that dermatology is among the few types of medicine in which physicians must understand ailments as they apply to the individual patient, as well as knowing the actual medial facts and the surrounding science.
These days, Dr. Tasso Pappas practices out of Skin Care Doctors in Burnsville, Minnesota. He has been there since December 2015, but he has been a dermatologist for more than two decades, ever since he obtained his medical degree from the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. Prior to that, the future Dr. Tasso Pappas graduated with a with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, also from the University of South Dakota. He has a lot more than formal academic education; he also completed an internship at the Mayo Clinic and went on to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for comprehensive dermatology training, which he completed in 1998. Dr. Pappas also is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and he has been a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology for years.
Dr. Tasso Pappas routinely performs reconstructive surgeries for skin cancer because this he is committed to serving the community. For at least nine years, he has participated in annual melanoma screenings in the Twin Cities region, and he has also provided gang tattoo removal services for former gang members.
